Thank you to everyone who attended our Zoom meetings in March, at which we heard from State Central Committee member Sarah Curran and our local House of Delegates candidates, and April, which featured guest speaker Chris Braunlich, President of the Thomas Jefferson Institute.

Please join us on Thursday May 20th by Zoom to hear from guest speaker Roman Buhler, who is the National Director of the Keep Nine Coalition, working to protect the independence of the U.S. Supreme Court by permanently preserving the current number of nine Supreme Court Justices against the court-packing attempts of the left.  CMVRW members will receive the Zoom link by email.  If you aren’t a member but would like to attend, please email colonialmtvernonrw@gmail.com to requestion the link.

Save the Date:  on Thursday June 17th we’ll meet from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in person at an outdoor location.

Zoom Meeting February 22nd

On Monday evening, February 22nd we will meet on Zoom at 7:15pm to toast President George Washington on the occasion of his birthday. We will also have a speaker that evening from the Fairfax County Police Department, specifically, Captain Greg Fried, Commander of the Franconia station.  Members and Associate Members will receive a Zoom link by email.  If you are not a member but would like to participate, please email colonialmtvernonrw@gmail.com

Our first club meeting of the year will take place on Zoom on Thursday, January 21st. The Zoom will open at 6:45pm for social time, and our meeting will begin at 7:15pm. Great meeting — all about preserving the integrity of elections. John Schaefer gave a great pitch on why we need more Republican Election Officers. Michael Maibach gave an excellent presentation about the importance of the Electoral College. Please mark your calendars for our next meeting on March 26th.

Our January meeting will be Thursday, January 30th at Houlihan’s Restaurant in the Springfield Hilton, 6550 Loisdale Road, Springfield. Social time will begin at 6:30 pm and the meeting at 7:15. We’ll be in the small private dining room and order from the menu (separate checks). We’ll pass a budget and discuss plans for 2020. Some of our 2020 candidates may stop by also.

Thank you to all who attended, both new and long-time friends and members.  VFRW Vice-President Paula Steiner, a former President of Colonial, swore in our officers for 2020:  President Nancy Almasi, Vice-President Susan Valentine, and Treasurer Debbie Bodlander.  Hans von Spakovsky of the Heritage Foundation spoke about immigration issues, and Colonial member Anna Urman share her family’s immigration experiences.  We also presented a donation for Constituting America to Cathy Gillespie.
